The Passion to Serve Jesus Christ

Acts 1:8 – “You will be my witnesses…”

 

How can I know I am filled with the Holy Spirit?

  • You will have a constant desire to ______________ _______ and ___________ _________.
  • You will discover the _________________ of __________ by serving Jesus rather than serving self.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

  • Being a “servant” means having an attitude of life that freely attends to others’ needs without expecting or demanding anything in return.

  • “How far should we go in serving others?”
  • Jesus loved His disciples to the end.

To the end of what?

To the end of their love for Him.

 

  • Jesus showed His disciples that the expression of love is humble, menial service to others, even to those who intentionally abused their relationship with Him.

Jesus was the supreme authority, yet He served those who were obligated to Him.

Jesus had all power, but He served the powerless

Jesus possessed all things, but He served those who had nothing

Jesus was betrayed by friends, yet He stooped in an act of humble service and offered them His love.

Victory over sin, which

Energizes us for ministry.
